How to Illuminate Your Keyboard

Typing at night is probably the most difficult thing to do next to reading and the most eye stressing which would sometimes result to headaches and worst... migraines.

It's not really advisable to read or type at night since you are forcing your eye muscles to adjust which would be really stressful. so it is really important to have at least a small light that will provide illumination.

I think I spent over P500 just buying led lamps because none of them seems to last and I've noticed my laptop became hotter since I started using them.

It's a good thing I found this video online so I gave it a try.

If you find yourself having the same problems, this project would be a great help to you.

Rather than buying yourself a usb lamp which would cost about P100 - P150 each you can hack your keyboard for just P30.

Materials:

1 meter Telephone wire - P18

2 white leds - P20

Total Expenses - P30

Advantages of Self Illuminated Keyboard over USB Lamp:

1. Inexpensive

2. Easy to fix

3. No power supply needed

4. Your laptop will not be subject to overheating since you are not using it for it's source of power.

How To Make the Perfect Budget Laptop Fan

Laptop fans are made to lessen your laptop's temperature but it is not enough to prevent your laptop from overheating.

There are actually 2 ways to successfully prevent your laptop from overheating:

Use blowers that would help cool down the system
Use an exhaust fan that would help draw out heat from the system

however you cannot buy a laptop fan that has both of them but you can make one instead.

Great quality laptop fans are made of aluminum which are capable of containing the cold temperature within the metal, however if you're looking to make a budget laptop, buying a piece of aluminum would be very costly and hard to craft. Alternatively you can use a piece of cheap plastic that is much easier to cut than metal.

Speaking of plastic, the best plastic I could think of are acrylic plastics, unfortunately an acrylic plastic with the same dimension and a thickness that is enough to support the weight of a laptop would cost over 500 bucks. So instead of an acrylic plastic I bought a cheap plastic suitcase for less than a 100 bucks only.

To start you need the following:

2-12 volt large DC fans
1-12 volt small DC fan
1-switch
1-plastic suitcase
1-12volt DC power supply

Notice that the fans i've used are all 12 volt DC fans and not a 5 volt usb fans since usb connections requires your laptop to exert more energy which would cause it to overheat. So instead of using usb fans I used independent fans instead.

I. Blowers

cut 2 large holes for your blowers and simply screw and attach your fans facing down as shown below:

III. Elevation

Carpal tunnel syndrome is one of the common medical disorder when typing, so it is very important to have your laptop elevated at an angle utmost 45 degrees. Below I added a foldable table stand I took from an old portable laptop table.

IV. Exhaust

Adding an exhaust fan will help your laptop not to exert more energy to supply power because excess use of energy is one of the factors which causes it to overheat.

To add an exhaust fan, first locate the exhaust of your laptop and attach the small 12v dc fan to your custom laptop fan with a screw as shown below. (my laptop exhaust is located on the left part)

V. Stoppers

If your laptop is elevated at an angle, it is very important to provide stoppers which will help your laptop not to slip off.

With these setup, it help your laptop run for long hours with a temperature 10 degrees less than laptops with ordinary laptop fans. And also you may allow your laptop to run at high performance settings without any worry.

How to Prevent Your Router From Overheating

By now this would be my 3rd router and I guess I spent over P4,000 buying routers alone just to have wireless connectivity at home.

Routers running 24 hrs a day are actually subject to overheating which would actually shorten the lifespan of any router. My second router actually just lasted for less than 8 months that's why I was thinking really hard on how I can increase it's lifespan and not spend another P1000 plus for another router.

To start here is the first look of a brand new router:

Notice that I marked red for cutting holes for the fan and blue for the screws. You can use anything you like to do this. You may use a cutter or a drill but I suggest using a sharp edged soldering iron because plastic easily melts with heated metal.

(you can use the soldering iron to trace the large circle until it will eventually fall off and just punch screw holes with it. Also remember to punch a hole to insert your fan wires)

This is where you will solder the connection to your 12volt DC fan which you can buy from any computer store or electronic hardwares for less than a hundred(P100). The fan also comes with screws.

The fan actually comes with 2 wires; red and black.

1. solder the red wire to the postive(+) connection

2. solder the black wire to the negative(-) connection

3. remember to insulate the connection with an electrical tape to prevent them from shorting out.

After this simply screw the fan from the inside using the screws provided when you purchased it.

(notice that the fan is facing up not facing down, this is to draw or vacuum heat away from the router)

I also did the same to the modem:

(Since I cannot open it and I'm sure ISP-Internet Service provider won't allow it too, I simply did a parallel connection which would supply both the modem and the fan and just punched holes on the surface to allow me to screw from the outside)

So good luck with this. . .

Now you can use the internet all day everyday. . .

How to Boost Your Wifi Signal

Do you have a low wi-fi signal at home? Well the most practical reason would be, you are just too far away from your wireless router, so most often the probable solution would be to get as near as possible to your router and take advantage of all the signal it can give you. So what's the use of a "wireless" router if you are just an inch close to it.

Well if you want to take advantage of your router being "wireless", per se' what you need is a simple home-made parabolic reflector antenna, like the one i did recently. I was actually very skeptical about this idea but as I tried it myself I was very surprised with the results.

An ordinary router distributes it's signal around it by 360 degrees, so rather than having your router dissipate the signal fairly in all direction, you can have it reflected to a specific direction instead. By this you are amplifying the signal of your router to a specific direction, boosting your signal twice as much while minimizing the signal on other directions unecessary.

There are only 3 things to make this; a piece of aluminum, a plastic and most important of all the pattern of your parabolic antenna.

This is really easy to make. The rectangular pattern goes to the aluminum can while the parabolic pattern goes to the plastic.

You only need to trace and cut the pattern carefully, remember to be very cautious in cutting the aluminum can in half as you might cut yourself.

Note: the rectangular patter might be too big for the aluminum can but it doesn't matter anyway.

After all the cutting and swetting part, Just simply insert the nodes to the holes carefully forming a parabolic shape.

Then for the final part just simply insert the antenna to the holes as shown in the pattern.

You'll be surprised, you have boosted your signal by 2 bars, just make sure to properly direct the reflector antenna to the direction you prefer.

You got fed up with bulk mails such as spams, unread and unsolicited mails in your current webmail and decided to get a Gmail of your own. You have successfully created another email account using the usual username in just a blink of an eye with your insane typing speed. You logged in successfully with your favorite username and password. However as you checked your profile you have mispelled your name, this upsets as you don't have any idea on how to get this fixed or worst your favorite username is good as trash coz the only way to get this fixed is to register another Gmail account.

Well, Good News!

Before you decide on signing up a new Gmail account and throw away the one you've created recently, there's actually a better solution than getting a new one.

How to Edit Your Gmail Profile Info in 5 Easy Steps

1. from your Gmail account, click on "settings"
2. then select "Account and Import" Tab.
3. click "edit info" under Send email as: (note: a box will immediately pop up.)

This is a funny fact... people use the internet and are very familiar with google, yahoo, facebook, myspace, friendster and whatever, yet they don't even know the difference between a browser and a search engine, just like most people don't know the difference between rubber shoes and sneakers. Well I don't know the difference either, what the h*ll.

The truth is people use only 13 percent of the functionality of the programs and other applications on their computers just like people use only 10 percent of their brain in their everyday life. Sometimes we are just too preoccupied with so many things that we don't have the time to know more about the terms and the things we are currently using such as cellphones, computers, cars and the likes. This is because we can afford to have them repaired no matter what happens or we depend so much on technical supports that would provide us assistance anytime we need one.

Well all I can say is that's how life is, and there is no need for us to tell them how to deal with this things. If people become smart enough to know them, then there maybe a few people like technicians or technical support assistants who might lose their jobs because they become unecessary.

At the last part of the video you'll see that the interviewer is asking them about Google Chrome. Chrome is actually is one of the new generetions of web browsers. It is an open source browser that has minimal designs totally optimized for the internet and your computers memory. This makes internet browsing faster, safer and easier without even worrying about lagging. Compared to other web browser, Chrome has a browsing speed which is 3 -5 times faster. Sometimes ordinary browsers loads a page for more than a second, with Chrome it's just a fraction of a second, it's like turning pages. However it takes up a lot of space on your hard disk, Chrome can take up utmost 300mb of hard disk space.

With respect to your computer's memory I took a snapshot to show you the big difference in memory usage between ordinary browsers and Chrome.

If you try to take a good look at the image below, it would show you that Firefox takes up almost 100, 000 kb while Ineternet Explorer runs in an average of 20,000 kb but Chrome uses more or less 10, 000 kb of your computer's memory only, that's totally a big difference, how's that for 300mb. This shows that Chrome is the next generation in web browsing. Totally optimized for you and your computer.

Thanks Google Chrome, it just made internet browsing easier. I'm just proud to be one of the internet users surfing with Chrome.

Rocketdock vs. Objectdock

Docks are desktop enhancer for computer users who have a very busy life. It allows users to organize their desktop icons; shortcuts, programs and other applications on your desktop eliminating the messy workspace. By hovering your mouse on the sides of your screen, docks pops out automatically providing you easy access to shortcuts and applications.

Objectdock and Rocketdock both are desktop enhancer which have been competing on the internet for user download demands. Although both are virtually the same in construction and function they differ entirely in quality and how well it is optimized for your computers memory. A slight difference on these factors actually creates a big effect on the computer.

If you are looking for a lightweight dock and still provide you the same function go for the Rocketdock. On the other hand Objectdock are more optimized for quality and appearance.

To tell you honestly, I've used both docks and I prefer light weight, which would not give your computer a hard time to keep them functioning. So I would recommend anyone using Rocketdock instead of the Objectdock.

Rocketdocks are much cooler because you are able to minimize opened media files to your dock directly and that's really awesome.

PLDT DSL: How to Bypass Port 25 mail error.

Do you keep on getting this error in your Windows mail or Outlook such as this?
Is your outbox filled with unsent emails?

First things first is you have to understand what port 25 is, This is the default port commonly used by email clients for sending out mails. Unfortunately most ISP(Internet Service Provider) such as PLDT myDSL blocks this port due to spam and virus issues. Blocking this port greatly affects third party emails such as Outlook, Windows Mail and the likes.

I've tried many methods like telnet, rerouting smtp, smtp servers, mail utilities and using other email softwares and have spent long hours just troubleshooting the problem. If you are patient enough to wait on the phone for a long period of time you can call the PLDT technical support.

Anyways I'll just teach you how to fix the problem and bypass the blocked port 25. Port 110 is for incoming mail so just keep your setting as it is. All you need to do is change your current outgoing mail settings and it's port. Please follow the steps below.

*Note: This is only for PLDT myDSL*

Windows Mail Settings or Outlook.

1.To Setup Account

-go to "Tools"
-then "Accounts"
-select an Email account
-then click on "Properties"

2. at Servers tab:
-set outgoing mail server = smtpdsl4.pldtdsl.net
-uncheck "my outgoing server (smtp) requires authentication".
-uncheck "log on using secure password authentication" to be able to receive mails.

3.at Advanced tab:
-set outgoing mail(smtp) = 587

This setting should now allow you to send and receive emails.

I just want to share to you the video I created myself. This video is suppose to be a video interview for a company called EMI, unfortunately I didn't get a response back from them after sharing
them this video or probably it didn't get their attention but it helped me a lot to promote myself over the internet. In this way you are able to attract business minded people of your intention and this would probably serve as your video resume, which would allow them to get a first look at you like you were just in front of them.

How to Remove Content Warning in Blogger

I was totally annoyed by the fact that one of my blog was under content warning. I didn't quite understand what was going on and didn't even know which post had a malicious content for my blog to be objectionable or illegal. I'm sure some MOFO users must have clicked FLAG BLOG many times.

That's why this CONTENT WARNING page seems to appear every time someone wishes to visit my blog.

But to tell you the truth the solution was quite simple. So don't be mislead by other solutions to this problem. There are actually many blogs showing various ways to solve this nuisance but this is the simplest among them. I actually did it the hard way because I was mislead by other blogs. So before you do anything else to your blog, you might as well try this option first and just thank me later if it worked for you.

First is to go Customize your blog, then click on the Settings menu and then the Basic

Now scroll down until you get to the Adult Content? Settings. Notice that there is a scroll down menu with options 'Yes' and 'No'.

Select 'No' for the warning message to disappear.

Finally, click on Save Settings. This time the warning message should not appear.

This I haven't thought about, what I actually did was I created a new blog, downloaded the blog with the malicious content and imported the .xml file to the new blog.

How to Lose/Gain Weight Tips

Since I was 13 yrs. old I am a very health conscious kid. I always find ways to make myself physically fit. I try to involve myself in sports and other physical activities. I played baseball and football(soccer), I went to the gym regularly, studied different forms of martial arts, took diets and always had a daily exercise routine but I've noticed I just keep getting bigger. I became a buff and realized that I've been gaining both muscle and fat which I thought was healthy.

This notion remained in me for many years and it actually took me 10 years to realized it was all a big mistake. When I studied boxing this is what I actually found out, the science behind why boxers have only 0-6% total fat in their bodies, why they are much physically strong and much more healthy than a big buffed man.

Our body consists of 70-80% water, losing weight immediately is simply cutting off water intake and minimizing food intake. In this way you can loose as much as 10 lbs in just 2 days. Believe me that's boxer's secret to "Extreme Weight Cutting", that's what we do best other than just fighting.

To explain that much further, when trying to lose weight, you need to exercise but you have to return a fraction of the energy lost to keep you alive. That's why Cutting Weight is a very critical method which only professionals do. In this way the fats which was converted to energy from calories have been totally shed off and will never return.

On the other hand if you want to gain weight, it's not a good solution to just drink H2O and sit. Water actually makes you fat and useless. To keep your body in balance and well distributed, exercise and use your energy so you'll crave for more food and water. After that you can resupply & rehydrate yourself as much as you can without noticing you've returned a value of energy more than the value of energy lost, in this way you'll get bigger but well balanced. This is is what I have discovered in my younger years. This would be a good advice for those who wish to gain more body mass.

Water greatly affects a person's weight. Consuming too much water actually expands the stomach's volume allowing it to provide a great capacity for a great amount of food to be taken. The fact is, it's not even advisable drinking 8 glasses a day, so be careful not to drink too much water or any liquid for those who wish to lose weight and are on a diet because that would just make your stomach bigger. In short, the bigger your stomach, the more food you are able to consume.

How To Build 75, 264 Backlinks a Day!

I first started as a link builder, it was pretty much my kind of thing. Link building is an effective way of promoting your website and get your site noticed on search engines and there are actually different ways of doing it. It's either you do it using Whitehat or Blackhat techniques, legitimate or illegitimate respectively.

Whitehat techniques are the most preffered way of promoting your website on the web. It might take you a lot of time doing it but at least you've been doing it in legal ways. But most people find Blackhat techniques much more effective and this is what they call "spamming". Spamming may be a great nuisance to internet surfers but it effectively draws more attention compared to writing articles blogging and etc.

If you really are desperate to make your website climb up the search engines how about trying this technique I've formulated myself. If ever you find this very effective and helpful, then go on with it as long as you don't blame me of any harm it may cause to your website. Now put on your trench coat, your sunglasses and your Blackhat and let's start the lesson right away.

I. First
Setup multiple gmail accounts. The least you can get with gmail is five(5) utmost is ten(10) per day if you're fast enough. But if you're too slow, google may recognize that you've been spamming and it will prompt you "Account Creation Failed" after creating a new account.

With these task, setup twelve(12) gmail accounts. Just set up accounts as many as you can for the day and create additional accounts in the next few days to create a total of 12 gmail accounts.

II. Second
Use each gmail accounts you've created to sign-up at Onlywire.com and it will prompt you to install a plugin. Rembember to install the plugin only once using the first account or else you'll be flooded with too many Onlywire buttons.

Let's do the math. With Onlywire you are able to create as much as 28 bookmarks equivalent to 28 backlinks to your site, with just one click of the button. But Onlywire takes about 5 minutes before all the bookmarking is done, so for 12 accounts you are able to create 336 bookmarks or backlinks for 60 minutes, so for 24 hours there are 75,264 backlinks directed to your website and that is just for a day, Fair enough?

Base on my experience as a link builder, I am able to create approximately 5,000 backlinks in 160 hrs and that's more than a day.

8. Calculation

It takes you about 5 minutes to complete all the bookmarks in each account

12 accounts x 5 minutes = 60 minutes = 1 hr to finish bookmarking the 12 accts.

Upon Browsing the internet and reading articles that might help me on my future tasks as a Virtual Personal Assistant. My SEO Tool#4 - Social Bookmarking

Socialbookmarking is one of the most effective and by far the fastest way of building backlinks to your site compared to Directory Submission. Because of the fact that it has much greater audience and it allows you to create intriguing titles that would actually draw more internet surfer attention immediately. There are more than a hundred social bookmarking sites that are existing on the internet such as Stumbleupon, Digg, Propeller and the likes but there are websites that compiles all of the bookmarking sites as one such as the Collective Bookmarking Sites listed below.

Addthis with a page rank of 9 has 36 social bookmarking sites available. Although it may have the highest page rank on the list but I personally don't recommend using it because it's uneasy. With addthis you still have to signup just before you get the button and it sometimes fill's in form's with wrong titles and description.

Socialmarking with a page rank of 3 has 130 social bookmarking sites available. Although it may have the greatest number of socialbookmarking sites available and still it's not that easy to use because it has a user interface equivalent with the addthis.

Socialmarker with a page rank of 5 and 47 bookmarking sites available. The interface is quite similar to socialposter with it's easy scrollable frame submission. However the only difference is it has the least number of bookmarking site which is a big downside of it.

Socialposter. Although it may just have a page rank of 5 and 80 social bookmarking sites available, by far its a great bookmarking site that i have used. It completely fills in bookmarking info in frames so you can easily scroll back and forth through the list of bookmarking sites and submitting is as easy as just one click for each frame.

Onliwire, my personal Favorite. Although there are some flaws in it but the speed it takes you to build links is incomparable. It only takes you a click to distribute links to at most 28 bookmarking sites if all will be successfully distributed. Most of them might fail just like other collective bookmarking sites, but the most important thing there is, you would not be wasting your time going accross each lagging frames just to build one link.

But before you get to use Onlywire. you are required to sign-up for it and add an existing button to one of your websites or blogs in exchange for the service. No logging in is required, Onlywire allows you to setup logins for the 28 bookmarking sites which would automatically log you in to each of them everytime you click the bookmark & share button located on the upper right corner of your browser.

With Onlywire all you have to do after clicking the bookmark and share is to fill in the description and tags, Titles and urls are automatically filled in. Then you're good to go.

Directory Submission is one of the oldest ways of building backlinks to a website and still have been used by many people today.

Directory submissions allows a user to create inbound links everytime he/she submits a site to an on-line directory, so the more directory he/she visits the more inbound links he/she is able to create. Just like signing up or creating accounts it requires a lot of informations to be filled up before you can completely submit a link, which would probably take you a lot of time.
